Happy new years, everyone~
Since I was in the middle of finding patches for a friend, I figured I might as well archive and share the Kai arcs with everyone, especially when I also found out yesterday that some of the links on HigurashiFix are now broken. Like the title says, the folder includes Meakashi-hen, Minagoroshi-hen, and Matsuribayashi-hen, and the patches / fixes are as follows—
-Sprites and backgrounds replaced with those from the PS2 Matsuri version.
*-All music tracks replaced with those from the original Japanese version.
**-Ugly font replaced with Consolas (make sure you have the font installed first!)
-Ugly UI hidden. Also, no need to go to the menu and hit Call Box, that’s already done.
-Sounds replaced with those from the original Japanese version.
-Kaibrid applied to all of them.
So, no need to go through any hassle of patching / finding patches, all of that has been done! Just download and play. Also, make sure to run the sound novel with higurashi.exe (Rena icon), not BGI / the Rika icon.
All were compressed with 7-zip. There shouldn’t be any issues since I went back and double-checked that each arc was working properly, but should there be any, please tell me and I will provide a fix and replace the file!
For the first four arcs, please refer to this post.
For the Higurashi minigames, please refer to this post.
Enjoy~
A Christmas present to my Higurashi followers~
So, most people have played MangaGamer’s release of the Higurashi sound novels, and if anyone did a check-up on differences between the original and MG’s versions, the minigames are missing from the MG version. The reason? Too many references from other companies to pass in a commercial release, literally.
So, I decided to release this since 1. a download of the original sound novels is hard to find nowadays, and 2. the minigames are actually quite fun!
Thanks to Sonozaki Futagotachi for the translation patch of the minigames! They also left a notepad file of all the references / graphic elements used in the minigames, do take a look at it~
Anyways, as for the minigames, the list:
-Rena*POW*
-Soofy Fairy Bomber
-Satoko Bomber
-Devi-Devi Devils
-Big Boobs Bounce (…Read the storyline, Dr. Irie will tell you why BBB means that.)
-Strolling Rika-chan
Play the games in order, and play all difficulties for maximum enjoyment! Try special moves whenever you can, you never know what you might unlock in the end! Plus, some of the games on the list don’t even appear until you’ve completed everything else. Keep that in mind.
Details about this download—
-The compressed file was split into 2 parts with 7-zip.
-I pulled this directly from my Program Files directory, though you don’t have to put the folder in your directory to play it, you can just open the folder up on your desktop and it will still work fine. So, no installation or anything is required! All files needed to play the minigames are in the folder!
-When you extract the folder, just open it, go into the Minigames folder, click the 1st Satoko icon and play. The game saves your progress as you go.
-I was too lazy to isolate anything, so for no related reason whatsoever, the Sonozaki sisters’ own English translated version of Onikakushi and the extras is there as well. If you feel compelled for whatever reason to read it, go ahead, just open the folder named English and run the ONScripter-EN.exe file.
If you run into any problems or have any questions, feel free to ask!
Enjoy, and merry Christmas / happy holidays to everyone!

The file size is 563mb and is an .mkv file. Subbed by CMS. Enjoy!

This is a RAW scan. Unless you can read Japanese, I recommend you not “guess-read” it since it’s 285 pages long and pretty text-heavy with hardly much ‘action’ at all.
A horror story by Ryukishi07, illustrated by Nozawa Beam.
The story is set in a middle school in Shishibone city. Tomohiro Miyajima, the main character of the story, and his group of friends are busy studying for an exam. One day, in search for a thrilling mystery as well as easy money, they take several donation boxes and fabricate a curse to scare everyone: “Ohone-sama’s curse”. After scrawling 骨 (bone) all over the chalkboards and spreading rumors of the curse, the donation boxes are quickly filled and the curse becomes a major legend of the school. Of course, only Tomohiro and his friends knew the curse was fake. It wasn’t possible for anything to happen.
That is, until they receive a donation of 50,000 yen and letter to go with it, reading: “Please curse Tanashi Miyoko”
Immediately after that letter, bullying and crimes in the school escalated, strange incidents occur, and Tomohiro and his friends are left with a much bigger mystery than they wanted to have, that they are forced to investigate by themselves. What happened shouldn’t have happened. Those who are alive should not be alive, those who know what they know shouldn’t have been able to know, and familiar faces are hardly what they seem, but why? And how?
—Note: The world that this story is set in is the world shown at the end of Higurashi Kai, where Frederica Bernkastel meets Tanashi Miyoko and Miyoko’s parents do not die.

The download link for Norton 360.
-This one lasts for 60 days and has a much simpler installation process than Kaspersky. When it runs out, download this, use it to purge Norton from the system, and follow its instructions to renew it for 180 days, I think. Your computer might recognize the Box TR as a trojan. IGNORE IT.
The download link for Kaspersky (Internet Security)
The download link for Kaspersky (Antivirus)
For the latter two, you have to download keys for them, click here for them. Follow the direction below—
1. Install KAV or KIS with Trail version - 30days, Open Kaspersky License Manager (lower right-hand corner).
2. Delete any trial key first, by clicking the red X next to the key. And click ‘Activate the application with a new license’.
3. Disable your internet connection.
4. Select ‘Activate commercial version and enter the activation license code as 11111-11111-11111-1111X’
or select ‘Activate trial license’
5. Click Next, an error dialog box will open, don’t worry about it.
6. Click OK and you will now get the option to activate KIS / KAV using a key file.

A game created by Daisu on the AnimeSuki forums. This is a simple, yet entertaining game that is good for getting into the Higurashi series. You play through all of the major arcs, including Hajisarashi-hen as well as some alternate worlds covered in manga one-shots such as Hinageshi. There are some original storylines and some overlapping as well.
1. Latest updated download. [UPDATED 11/17/2011]
2. Old version from March.
*Use the old version if, for any reason, you hear a glass-shattering noise and the game crashes, or you’re stuck in a room and can’t get out for whatever reason. Simply transfer the Save RVdata files from one folder to the other. When you’ve gotten passed the scene where you crashed, transfer the save files back to the latest version.
TIPS—
- Make sure to keep one updated save file in Rika’s Metaworld!
-Try everything! Search every nook and cranny of the map in the “Failed Worlds” in order to unlock every possible storyline and character you can get. For example, there are certain items required for Shion and Natsumi to become a part of your party, a certain minigame must be completed in order for you to have a chance at playing the Yamainu (yep.), certain conditions must be met to open the Sealed Saiguden, etc.
-Unlike the sound novels where picking choices does not affect how the story goes, here it does. You may have to replay some chapters multiple times to be able to experience all of the alternate possibilities and worlds out there. Also, picking choices may affect the reward you get in the end (i.e. how you torture Satoko affects the prize you get in the end).
-Don’t die. Even if in the actual series the characters do get killed by Takano or someone else, winning the battle might not change the outcome of that world, but it may unlock other worlds and even give you some neat prizes.
-Stay out of the Onigafuchi swamp until you’re at least level 5…
-The little lolis aren’t as useless as they look. Actually, they’re the most useful, in my opinion.
Enjoy~
**If you need any help with the game, feel free to let me or Daisu (who now has a Tumblr as of December 25 2011!) know~

I promised several people I would upload a patched version of the visual novel to save them from a bit of hassle, and here it is. The changes to the original MangaGamer version are as follows:
-Sprites and backgrounds replaced with those from the PS2 Matsuri version.
*-All music tracks replaced with those from the original Japanese version.
**-Ugly font replaced with Consolas.
-Ugly UI hidden. Also, no need to go to the menu and hit Call Box, that’s already done.
-Sounds replaced with those from the original Japanese version.*You may replace the files with the Alternative Hybrid Patch if you’d like, but honestly, I have went through each and every sound file there is, and found only very few tracks that were not included in the original Japanese version.
**There will be a TTF file named “consolas” within the RAR. Please make sure you have this font installed (Right click-> Install), or else the font patch won’t work. Some of you who have already downloaded the VN may have realized that the font patch link on the HigurashiFix Wikia was dead. If this is the case, download the “Higurashi VN font patch” and follow the Readme inside.
Edit: Editorashi has not been applied, but simply download the file and drag the contents into the Higurashi folder. This fixes any typos that may be found in the VN. Thanks to rexilsor for providing this!
Both parts of the VN + the font patch + Editorashi, can be downloaded here.
Please let me know if anything goes wrong.
Enjoy~
For those who requested a link to download Crevasse Lamp’s Higurashi doujin album whose tracks I uploaded not too long ago, I’ve uploaded the album onto MediaFire!
Thank you for sticking through the track spam! I hope you’ll enjoy the music as much as I do~

I’ve been asked for this a few times, and since it’s the day of the Watanagashi, I’ve decided to compile it and put it up on MF as a little gift. This version of Daybreak Kai has already been patched to the latest 1.11 version.
Download all parts, extract the RAR, and you should get a “tasofro” folder (contains a “daybreak” folder inside). Place the entire thing into C:\Program Files.
The MF folder also includes a ZIP of the English patch for it (it rarely works with Windows 7, FYI). Unzip the folder and place its contents into the daybreak folder, run the perform-patch.exe, click on the name of the patch in the top window, then click Apply Patch. You should get something like a daybreak-en.exe in the end. Right-click and make a shortcut out of it to put on your desktop, double-click, and play!
*The patch only covers the menus and battle modes. The story has not been translated, but it’s not hard to navigate so don’t worry about that.
If you’re having any issues, please leave a message in my ask box. Enjoy~
